Today we were all supposed to bring in our work to see what people had managed to get done in their sketch books and to have a general discussion on what everyone was going to do for the book based on what work we have already done. .. . . ..

 This piece was in Layers - about 5 actually this is the first thing I did in my sketch book, just to have a play around with paper manipulation as an idea for the final book.

 Photo Transfer -->
Using the pictures I took of the doors I used paint thinner to transfer the photos onto cartridge paper, then I scored the paper so I could fold it past each door making it able to stand up on a table, or to be used as an insert for the final book possibly.

<-- The birds were something my tutor really liked so I think im going to work on creating more of those for the book.








A few of the group members didnt show up, so we have just had to look at what was brought in and see where we can go with it. -

Photos from my day out in Notting Hill.... There was an amazing cafe round the corner from Notting Hill Gate station, that has a mini car in the shop window with pizza and pasta. It is a quaint little Itilian place. Reccommended for a cheap lunch and coffee.

Beginning of Research Phase. . . .

I love the coloured buildings of Notting Hill, The architecture, colours of the buildings and even the doors as you walk down portobello road are going to be my main starting point for the project and my research.

Getting Started

The group dynamic is working well I think, we decided a few weeks ago once our brief came out to give everyone 2 weeks to do research and start coming up with Ideas for the book, then today we met together and sorted out what we had so far.


There were lots of ideas going round....

I think we should format the book in an A3 size because most of us are working in A3 sketchbooks already, and it will be easier for the group when it comes to the end of the project and we have to start formatting work to get it all together.
